Columbus Has the Workforce Robotics Companies Need

Industry-specific programs are preparing people to work in the robotic industry. On the manufacturing side, local training programs include the Certified Manufacturing Specialist program offered by Columbus Technical College. The Chattahoochee Valley Community College Automotive Manufacturing Program teaches students to apply basic engineering principles and technical skills to identify and resolve production problems in automotive manufacturing. “This program includes instruction in mechatronics, robotics, machine operations, production line operations, engineering analysis, systems analysis, instrumentation, physical controls, automation, computer-aided design (CAD), manufacturing planning, quality control and informational infrastructure” and includes a work-based learning component.  

From an engineering perspective, Columbus State offers a BS and MS in Robotics Engineering, along with a Robotics Certificate. Troy University offers a complimentary degree in Electronics Engineering Technology.
